Releasing, Recording, and Other Fun Updates
The wait is over for some things and getting much shorter for others
I’m REALLY excited today! Since my last newsletter, two big things I’ve been working toward have happened.
I re-published my refreshed fantasy romance novels. This was a “quick” project that I started last fall and have been squeezing into the cracks of my schedule. They didn’t end up with beautiful new covers, but they do have slightly revised covers…which I may yet tweak a little more...plus new endings and various plot tweaks. I still really love these characters and their world. I’ll never feel I did them true justice, but I do want to get back there later and tell all the other stories that are begging to be written.
The Bronze Mage is free this month on Apple Books, and as cheap as I could get it elsewhere.
The Green-Eyed Mage (its sequel) is also available now at all the same retailers.
They tell the story of a trying-to-reform villain and the stubborn princess who refuses to settle for anything less than a Happily Ever After.
We finished recording the audio for Stranger to the Sea!!!!!!
If you’d asked me two months ago, I might have admitted that I didn’t think we’d end up doing it at all. We started recording last spring and by the beginning of this spring had less than a quarter of it done. Now all sixteen chapters are recorded!!
If you’re a subscriber, that means you should be able to log in and download the first chapter (and preface) next week. After that, I plan to upload a rough edit of a new chapter every week. I’ll post instructions in the chat on Substack (link below).
As for Crossing the Reef, I’m starting to move it into Scrivener. I’ll be sending it out to a new editor in June, with a cover reveal hopefully in July and publication in August. We’re even hoping to start recording it in September.
OH! Before I forget!
The Bronze Mage is part of a promotion this month:
It’s a smallish promotion, but a great way to check out a few new-to-you authors and hopefully enjoy some Happily Ever Afters that you shouldn’t need to hide from your kiddos. (I haven’t read the other stories, so this is not a guarantee or endorsement, but browsing new authors IS one of my favorite pastimes.)
For years I either browsed bookstores/libraries, or checked out recommendations from friends. I still browse (though not often in person). I also subscribe to BookBub (ebooks) and Chirp (audiobooks).
How do you usually find new authors? Let me know in the comments, or email me back.
Do you have a favorite “No Spice Fantasy WITH Romance”? (Not just from the promotion, but any favorite book of yours that might fit that description. I have SO MANY!) Please tell me what yours is, so I can check it out!
Well, I’d better get back to work or I’ll miss all my deadlines. Talk to you again soon!

P.S. If you’ve read any of my books, please review them! Every star rating help readers find new authors. A text review is even better. Thank you to everyone who has already done so!
